Peackeepers and Bulbs

Madame Rachelle came into kindergarten to tell us about Bannatyne's new Peacekeepers program.  Grade 4 students will be patrolling at recess to help students solve minor problems.

Here are our October vocabulary words:

We listened to a story about a pumpkin seed  before heading out and planting tulip and crocus bulbs in our Bannatyne garden.  We talked about how important it is for the bulbs to freeze before the spring.

Skittle Race!

We finally got around to celebrating the last of our colour days with this 'ARC-EN-CIEL' race.  We had a rainbow relay race to practice our colours.  The kids had to run with a spoon to collect five colours of Skittles and balance them as they ran back as quickly as possible.  It was very difficult and very fun.  My favourite part was when the kids cheered for each other every time ("Go Connie and Taylor!  Go Connie and Taylor!!").  It warmed my heart.

Fall and Fun with Numbers

Today we used our class parachute to work on number recognition in French.  Could you identify a number (IN FRENCH!) with your eyes closed?  We can!!

We've also been working on our fall portraits.

♫ Where Do You Start Your Letters?♫

Here is the printing song (from Handwriting Without Tears) that we have been using to remind us to always start printing our letter at the top...

...and here we are dancing to it!

We also worked on our Terry Fox cut and paste craft and started our autumn portraits with watercolour.
